Tiger sharks are one of the top three sharks that are
responsible for the most attacks on humans (“Tiger shark research program”).
One of the main reasons for this is that tiger sharks are big enough to be a
threat and they often eat prey that is similar in size to humans. Also tiger
sharks often mistake humans for seals, and surfers as turtles, and since tiger
sharks eat turtles and seals they will attack. Tiger sharks do not seek out
humans as many people think but rather mistake humans for their prey especially
when humans swim where seals and turtles are found (“Shark Attacks”).
